On August 27, 2026, the South Whitley Redevelopment Commission approved the initiation of a tree planting program aimed at replacing many of the trees that were removed due to the various street projects throughout Town. A budget of $7,000 has been allocated for the purchase and installation of ten (10) Sunset Red Maple* trees.

Residents can sign up to receive a tree at the Clerks' Office or download the form here. A consent form and application MUST be signed and submitted to the Clerks' Office by Wednesday, September 23, 2027, to be added to the list**. If you can, please also submit a sketch of where you would like the tree to be installed on your property.

**If more than ten (10) residents apply, the RDC reserves the right to select properties in targeted areas first. Any remaining applications not chosen will be maintained for future consideration.
